PARLIAMENT, June 30 — Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo was suspended for two days from the Dewan Rakyat for defying the orders of the Speaker to sit down.
Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia gave the son of DAP stalwart Karpal Singh the marching orders after he failed to heed the Speaker.
The incident began when Gobind, a first-time MP from the DAP, tried to speak over the issue of PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s safety.
Pandikar Amin did not allow it and suspended Gobind after the MP refused to budge from speaking on the issue.
Gobind had earlier stood his ground and dared the Speaker to use his power to act against him, which Pandikar Amin did.
