Shutdown at Petronas Gas processing plant

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 — Petronas Gas Bhd (PGB) informed that its Gas Processing Plant (GPP) Complex A in Kertih, Terengganu, has been shut down since 5.20am today following a general disruption of power supply from Tenaga Nasional Bhd TNB).

The power supply disruption was due to a flash fire at TNB’s Kertih distribution system, which feeds electricity to the GPP Complex A, PGB said in a statement.

As a result, PGB is temporarily curtailing the gas supply to its customers, all of whom have been informed.

Currently, the company is using its own back-up power system to partially start up production at the complex.

PGB said it will resume normal gas supply to customers as soon as electricity supply is restored to the complex.

The operation of PGB’s GPP Complex B was not affected, it added. — Bernama
