Website operator Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin (RPK) said he is prepared to be charged in court rather than expose the informant on the involvement of the three individuals in the murder of Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shaariibuu, contained in his Statutory Declaration (SD).
Raja Petra, who gave a statement to the police on the matter at the Sentul Police Headquarters Saturday afternoon, refused to expose the source of his information as he feared for the informant’s safety.
Raja Petra, who arrived at the police station at 5.10pm accompanied by his wife, Marina Abdullah and lawyer Amarjit Singh, left about two-and-a-half hours later at 7.45pm.
He said police informed him that he was being investigated under Section 203 of the Penal Code following a report lodged by the Attorney-General’s Chambers on June 20 alleging that he had made a false declaration.
Raja Petra said the police repeatedly asked about the source of the information on the involvement of the three individuals mentioned in his SD but he refused.
He said the police might charge him in court for refusing to disclose the source, adding he was prepared to be charged as he was confident that his source would explain the truth.
In his SD filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on June 18, Raja Petra claimed that the wife of Deputy Prime Minister, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, bomb expert Acting Col Aziz Buyong and his wife, Norhayati, who is also the aide-de-camp (ADC) to Rosmah, were present when Altantuya’s body was blasted at Puncak Alam, Shah Alam on Oct. 19 2006.
The SD also claimed that Umno Youth deputy head Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also the Rembau Member of Parliament, had kept a military intelligence report on the presence of Rosmah, Aziz and Norhayati at the crime scene.
Police had so far recorded statements from Rosmah, Khairy, Aziz and Norhayati and all of them had denied the allegations.
